The photo was taken on Table Mountain during my son’s first visit to Cape Town since I relocated there. The heart-shaped rock formation caught my attention, and we discovered many more during our hike. As we returned to take the cable car back, a thick mist settled on the mountain, enveloping us like a warm blanket.
That day, I took a picture of my son, and only later did I notice that there was a rainbow in the background, symbolising hope. The digital artwork is titled ‘Love Your Neighbour As You Love Yourself’ to express the idea that by believing in our own worth, we extend the same kindness to others.
Let’s put an end to the violence we inflict on ourselves and embark on a journey of love, love that gives courage, hope, strength, and faith.
