Great Art – Boxless Thinking
This great art piece is inspired by Franz Kline’s abstract expressionistic paintings, as well as Rorschach’s inkblots.
I went on a Woodstock Graffiti tour in Cape Town with a group of fellow photographers. It is my first visit to the Woodstock Exchange, so I take a little gander while waiting for everyone to arrive. A few minutes into my exploration, I come across a steel sculpture, about 1.5 meters in length, suspended in the middle of an entryway. It is a sculpture of a couple on a swing in a loving embrace, and the inspiration for this modern art piece was born right there.
I named this One-Off digital artwork ‘Boxless Thinking’ because the Inkblots series is based on the idea of engaging with quantum emotions and thoughts. So rather than just going through the motions of daily life, you are free to be the co-creator of every moment.
Neither trapped by the box (past) nor tethered to it. Tether points are like invisible strings that tie us to the past and keep us from functioning fully in the present or creating emotional space for new beginnings.
